We lost an important battle (read the VA Supreme Court decision), but we haven’t lost the war yet!¬† We still have legal and political options, and the fight against the corporate grab of assets built with taxes and tolls paid in earlier years continues, with ongoing and full-throated support from the Virginian Pilot and WAVY-TV!

HR citizens in Richmond for the appealThe VA Supreme Court duly heard oral arguments in Richmond at 11 a.m., attended by 70 or so plantiffs and supporters from Hampton Roads (photo by Virginian Pilot).

An alternative route through the Midtown Tunnel to downtown Portsmouth from the eastern side of the I-264 when the westbound Downtown Tunnel is closed. The Virginia Pilot has an interactive map of real-time traffic views in HR.

Meanwhile, the Portsmouth community is looking at a bargain to get the (westbound) Downtown Tunnel open again at weekends. (WAVY 10)
